About Us

Dear Visitor,

It all began on our first trip together in 2007 when our husbands ran the Boston Marathon together. We chatted about our kids and life and realized quickly that 4/5 of our kids had multiple food allergies. Gluten free, nut free, egg free, dairy free, fish free… We live it, eat it and get it.

The idea for AllergySense developed as our conversations progressed. As parents of kids with food allergies and as people with food allergies ourselves, we felt the need for a comprehensive online resource for all families, newly diagnosed individuals and kids and for the allergy community at large. We started to brainstorm and met with Allergists, Support Groups, Family Doctors, Parents, Pediatricians, Grandparents, Caregivers and Businesses all of whom provided feedback that we have integrated into the site.

We live everyday thinking about the food choices we make for our families and ourselves.  We are always looking for great tips, events, local businesses and services, products, recipes and more that we can share with the food allergy community on AllergySense.com.

Join us on this journey to learn more about living with food allergies. Search for businesses in your area that cater to people with food allergies, find travel destinations that understand food allergies, or ask a question of our Allergist or our team of Parents.

We would like to take time too to say thank you to all of the Allergists and Doctors who have provided great guidance including Dr. Maria Triassi Asper, Dr. David Hummel, Dr. Adelle Atkinson and to Dr. Kupfert and Dr. Merbaum. Thanks too to Nathaniel, Jeff, Lisa and Adam for your contributions and last but certainly not least to Rob and Don. We could not have launched allergysense.com without your incredible support.

AllergySense.com was designed for you to share with your friends, family and community members. Our goal is to help make living with food allergies easier for you and your children. So start clicking and enjoy the site.

Sincerely,
Rhonda & Michelle
